Chief Fun Officer Nominated for an Entrepreneur Award

Nicole Lander, Chief Fun Officer at Laser Tag in a Box has been nominated for the 2015 St George Banking Group AusMumpreneur Awards.

Product Innovation AwardThe AusMumpreneur Awards presented by the AusMumpreneur Network recognize and celebrate the most outstanding Australian Mums in business in areas such as business excellence, customer service, product development, and digital innovation.

The awards are designed to recognize women who successfully balance motherhood and business in a way that suits their life and family.

Nicole launched her laser tag business in Cairns in 1999. In January 2002 she expended to the Gold Coast and then in March that year to Brisbane.

"Laser Tag in a Box" now delivers party rentals nationwide.

Having first been exposed to table-top role playing games, such as Dungeons and Dragons at University, she moved onto computer simulations and strategy games like Civilization. Nowadays, she has created live games enjoyed by more than a million gamers across more than 41 countries.

As the Chief Fun Officer, Nicole says “With entertainment centres and theme parks looking for their next big attraction we are proud of our latest laser tag innovation being nominated for this Award.”

"Running your own business is great as a Mother because you have flexibility in working hours," said Nicole.

“When people are working for clearly defined goals, and when they believe they are making a difference, and are doing all the things we are actually capable of doing, then we can do astounding things,” she said.

Final winners will be announced at the Mumpreneur's Conference on 5 & 6 September at Rydges Swanston, Melbourne.
