Shadows/Vorlon
War
TIME: 10 minutes
(if
you’re not back on your ship by then, the ship will make the jump to
hyperspace through the jump gate without you!)
Background:
The
Babylon stations were the Galaxy’s last and best hope for peace…and they
failed! One
after another, all the stations were sabotaged, destroyed, or vanished
mysteriously.
Finally, only one station is left.
The year is 2261, the place…Babylon 5.
Ambassadors from the five major powers, the Earth Alliance, the
Minbari, the Centauri Republic, Narn, and the Vorlons, gather here to try
and prevent any further destructive conflicts, such as the recently ended
Earth/Minbar war, which the Minbari almost won, before mysteriously halting
before they destroyed Earth itself.
However, a threat has recently emerged to the fragile peace that
currently reigns.
It is the Shadows, a vicious race who are believed to be one of the
last remaining “Old Ones”, the first races to develop intelligence.
Their ships are made of an organic hull design, so they are literally
alive! They
arrive suddenly, attacking any Vorlon ship, outpost, and colony, as well as
anybody who has come into contact with them.
It would appear that the Vorlons are also some of the “Old Ones”
and are the bitterest enemies to the Shadows.
Soon, all out war is declared, between two races with weapons far
superior to those of all other races…
On
Babylon 5, a small force of Shadow soldiers manages to sneak into the
station. Their
mission is simple, destroy the station which is infested with the Vorlon
slime. The
Vorlons detect them immediately, and decide to eliminate first the Shadows,
and then Babylon 5, for daring to let the Shadow filth on.
Obviously, the EarthForce Security detail and their backup, the
Onla’Shok (in English, the Rangers, an elite force of Earth/Minbari
soldiers), have something to say about this.
The EarthForce Security won’t fail in their duty to protect the
station, and the Rangers are determined to keep the peace, no matter what
price they must pay.
They will keep up their motto “We Live For The One, We Die For The
One!” Before
long, a brutal 3-way firefight between the Shadows, the Vorlons, and the
Earth Force/Onla’Shok, erupts in the warrens of Brown sector…

EarthForce Special Rules:
- Can’t
attack Onla’Shok (they’re your allies, they might get upset)
-
Lyta Alexander might be turned by the Vorlons (they boosted her
telepathy, and so she is especially susceptible to their psychic probes).
This is determined by a secret die roll by the Captain of the Vorlon team
(Ambassador Kosh). So if Ambassador Kosh chooses to try and turn Lyta but fails
then he he looses 25 points, but if he tries to turn her and succeeds then he
not only gains an ally, 2 minutes into the game, but also gains 25 points. This
determined by the roll of a die.
-
1,2,3
Lyta stays with EarthForce, Vorlons loose 25 points
-
4,5,6
Lyta double crosses Earth, Vorlons gain 25 points.
Lyta
Special Rules:
-
If Lyta is "turned" by the Vorlons by a successful die roll (only she
and the Vorlon team see the roll) then 2 minutes into the game he stops fighting
the Interstellar Alliance's cause and returns to the Armory. There her pathetic
weapon (Short Range Pistol) will be replaced with one selected by the Armourer
eg Predator, SMG, etc. She can continue the game then on the side of the Vorlons.
If she has lost any hit points or if dead she can be re-animated ie 1
replacement by the Armourer.
