StarGate
TIME: 10 minutes
BACKGROUND
A mysterious discovery
has been made in Egypt. A
mysterious ring, made of an unknown material, was found buried under several
metric tons of stone, which was covered in hieroglyphics which translated as
“Danger, do not disturb the door of the gods!”
The ring was taken back to the USA for analysis.
What was found out left the research team stunned, and all
information on the ring labeled “TOP SECRET” by the US government.
The ring is an alien artifact, which is capable of opening holes in
time/space, thus enabling people to travel from one world to another almost
instantaneously! However, no
one on Earth is able to activate the device
Then,
one day, an unassuming Egyptologist by the name of Daniel Jackson was
brought onto the team. He
translates the pictographs on the ring itself, and discovers that they
equate to the positions of stars, 10,000 years ago, as seen from Egypt.
They are co-ordinates…by turning the ring, and locking in each
pictograph, or chevron, one by one, until you have seven chevrons incoded,
you activate the gate, and tell it where to open the portal to!
With
this discovery, the government decides to send a team through the StarGate,
as it is now called, to find out what’s on the other side. The team includes Jackson, and is lead by Colonel Jack
O’Neill, an expert in undercover operations, and Captain Samantha Carter,
an expert in nuclear physics, as well as several combat troops.
They go
through the StarGate, to discover a world which is inhabited by human
slaves, Ancient Egyptian gods, and their hawk-headed guards.
They quickly learn that the “gods” are actually human beings, who
have been turned into hosts for a parasitic alien race, which grants them
near immortal status. As well
as this, they find that the hawk-heads are also humans, who are used as
nesting sites for the younger aliens…therefore, they aren’t completely
taken over by the aliens, but serve them willingly.
The gods view the StarGate team as a menace, since they
came from a world which threw out the gods, and thus must be destroyed.
They have already managed to kill over half the team, and seem to be
preparing to invade Earth. With
this in mind, O’Neill and Carter activate a nuclear bomb, to wipe out the
alien threat. It is set to go
off in 10 mins. So now, the
StarGate team must run for their lives.
Unfortunately, Jackson needs at least a minute at the StarGate to
enter the sequence in…and only Jackson can do it!
Another problem…the local god, Ra, and his guards are between you
and the StarGate. On top of all this, the human slaves decide to rise up in
revolt, grabbing weapons from the hawk-heads you’ve killed, and weapons
from your own dead, and they attack the gods, and you.
They are determined to rule themselves, with no outside
interference…an admirable dream, if it didn’t interfere with your escape
plans. Now, you have to try and
fight your way through both groups. You’re
lucky…the guards seem more interested in putting down the rebellious
slaves, and the slaves don’t appear to have much idea of even how to use
their newly acquired guns.
