This scenario is ideally run
in an area that has a large building and open area nearby.
A school is ideal.
Captain's Briefing:
“Jan Chong Ya, a loyal
village chief of Roun Gia has appealed to the government for
protection. He claims
that he has been targeted by a VC terrorist squad.
Ordinarily this would be a AVRN job, but the guy has
friends on high places and insists on being protected by an elite
stateside team. In
other words, you lucky guys get to spend a
week or two living it up in some old plantation mansion
while the rest of us have to keep fighting the war.
Method of Insertion: Ground
Transportation by M-113 Troop Carrier is provided to the team to
transport them and their gear.
Fire Support Available:
Out of range of artillery but gunship fire is available
although not recommended because of possible damage to friendly
civilians
Enemy Movement Information:
No reports of NVA or VC in the area.
Terrain Report:
There is a village nearby (primary school), rice paddies
(oval) and rubber plantation now overgrown (rainforest area).
Mission Objectives:
Move yourself in Jan Chong Ya’s mansion and setup defensive
procedures. You
are to accompany him at all times and make sure he is safe from
attack. Jan is
to be allowed to carry out his normal business affairs as the
village chief.
Special Rules:
Keep Jan Chong Ya happy.
Don’t hurt the local people.
Extraction:
By M-113 troop carrier although if desperate a UH-1H can be
provided from a hot extraction
