BACKGROUND:
Whilst en-route to **CLASSIFIED INFORMATION**, a RAAF Falcon900 V.I.P. aircraft was shot down by **CLASSIFIED INFORMATION**. Intel shows that the Falcon900 was hit by a **CLASSIFIED INFORMATION**, which is believed to still be in the troubleshooting phase of its development. This means that the **CLASSIFIED INFORMATION** must be allies with the **CLASSIFIED INFORMATION** who are currently operating out of **CLASSIFIED INFORMATION**. On board the Falcon900 was **CLASSIFIED INFORMATION**, who was to attend the peace accords in **CLASSIFIED INFORMATION**. Satellite
Intel shows that the Falcon900 is more or less intact after impact. This can be attributed to excellent pilot skills. Despite missing a large section of **CLASSIFIED INFORMATION**,
the pilot managed to Belly-Land the Faclon900 at the following co-ordinates: **CLASSIFIED INFORMATION**.
Satellite Intel shows movement around the crash site, and several fly-bys have confirmed that **CLASSIFIED INFORMATION** and two Special Air Service Bodyguards have survived the initial impact, but are believed to be in deteriorating conditions. The condition of the RAAF pilots and personnel who were also on the
Falcon900 when it impacted are currently unknown, although if they are alive, they too must be in either serious or deteriorating
conditions. Satellite pictures also indicate large unfriendly forces moving towards the crash site at an alarming speed. They are currently
unaware of the crash location but are making alarmingly fast progress. Intel has given any rescue attempts no more than 19 hours to reach the crash site and extract any survivors before the **CLASSIFIED INFORMATION** reach the site and either execute or take hostage of those friendlies inside.
MISSION:
The mission is for a small force of Special Air Service Regiment (SASR) operatives to tactically insert into the jungle close to the crash site. Satellite thermal imaging shows the exact location, but the jungle canopy does not allow insertion as close to the site as the Government would like. Thermal imaging also shows the exact location of the enemy advance scouts, who are also seeking the crash site. It is believed that the enemy wishes to take the crew and dignitary on board as political hostages. This cannot be allowed to occur. Satellite thermal imagery has been made available to the SASR troops.
The enemy forces are to either reach the crash site first and secure it against SASR attack, or to extract any information and personnel deemed important by their CO.
SASR:
A MH-60K Black Hawk Gunship configured helicopter would insert the team of up to 7 soldiers The SASR insertion team would be armed like so:

Each soldier has 3 hit points. A second Black Hawk is available to provide 7 more replacements from the DZ after 10 minutes.
VIP PARTY:
From the crash there are 7 survivors including the pilot (the
co-pilot is dead), the VIP and some lightly armed body guards
The VIP wears a silver cap or silver helmet or white cap with SmartSensor on it.

Start at crash site. Cannot move more than 10 metres from Crash site until the SASR provide
5 minutes of medical attention.
VIP or Pilot cannot be replaced. However, the SASR can be replaced
if they return to the DZ, from the total available pool of 7
replacements, once resurrected they will have 3 hit points.
The VIP must role play this mission in the following way:
- The VIP primary objective is to survive and therefore will not engage in combat and will remain under cover as much as possible
- The VIP will surrender to the Enemy if crash site is overrun.
- The VIP will not try to escape captors unless totally unguarded.
- If captured the VIP will generally follow the instructions of the captors.
ENEMY:
The enemy in the mission is a classified group. (You suspect
Indonesians.) The conditions of winning for the enemy is obviously the capture or killing of the V.I.P. the killing of the SASR troopers is a target of opportunity, although extracting the V.I.P. will be easier without a squad of heavily armed SASR troopers on their backs. The enemy advance scouts/pathfinders are armed like so:
| Rank |

BRIEFINGS: SASR
You are a member of the elite Australian Special Air Service Regiment (SASR) who has been called up by the powers-that-be to be part of a rescue mission. Most of the information is classified at this current time, which doesn’t help you or your team much, but enough has been declassified for your eyes only to give you a feel for your mission.
You will be tactically inserted into the steaming jungles of Indonesia. Your mission is to patrol within an allotted area to find a crash site. The downed aircraft is an RAAF Falcon900 V.I.P. transport, that was shot down using revolutionary new technology supplied to Indonesian army/freelance terrorists by the Chinese. At this stage the Chinese are supplying arms to Indonesia and other non-allied countries to help cause trouble for allied nations.
The crash site is marked on the map that your commanding officer has, but due to an impenetrable canopy, the MH-60K Black Hawk helicopter Gunship has to insert your team approximately 60meters away. Once inserted, the Gunship will pull back to a safer distance to wait for the exfil command once you have found the V.I.P. and whomever is still alive. It is imperative that you stabilise any casualties (this will take
5 minutes at the crash site) before attempting removal from the crash site back to the HOT LZ, as their survival is paramount. You will be penalised if any crew member or body guard that was alive upon your arrival at the crash site dies before exfiltration.
At this stage it is believed that at the very least there are seven survivors at the crash site, one of which is your main objective, the VIP. One is the pilot and the other five are fellow members of the SASR, assigned to be bodyguards for the dignitary that was being conveyed on the Falcon900. It is possible that there are other personnel that survived the initial impact and the lack of proper medical attention, but at this point in time it is unconfirmed.
It has been confirmed that enemy forces are moving towards your position at an alarming rate. The Gunship that inserted you into the jungle is there to offer fire support, but that is only available for a limited time. (limited to enemy actions) Your time is extremely limited to complete these tasks. You WILL encounter advance scouts/pathfinders of the enemy forces whilst en-route to your objective. It is also imperative that they do not report back to their commanding officers with your whereabouts, as this will compromise your primary mission objectives and allow the enemy to hone in on you quicker than expected. At this point in time they too are trying to locate the downed Falcon900.
Once your Primary mission objectives are complete, you are to return to the insertion point for exfiltration. If the original insertion point is classified as a HOT LZ (hot landing zone-too much enemy fire for the Gunship to pick you up), then you will have to find another exfil point ASAP…..
BRIEFING: ENEMY FORCES
You and your crew are part of an advance enemy action in this sector. Your commanding officers back in your HQ in IRYAN JAYA have given your battalion the task of setting up a temporary forward attack position, making way for a more permanent fixture for the up and coming attack on Papua New Guinea, and Australia. Whilst en-route to the co-ordinates radioed to you, you intercept a distress transmission from an Australian Aircraft. Your sergeant, who knows some English, was able to translate that the Australian Aircraft was carrying some kind of important dignitary and had been hit by enemy anti-aircraft fire. The transmission is cut short, and you assume that the aircraft has hit the ground. From the signal strength of the distress call, you gather that the aircraft was not far from your location, at the very most a probable 10 klicks through the jungle.
You call your advance platoons to a rest in a large clearing, and after posting sentries you contact your HQ with the information about the aircraft. Your commanding officer confirms that the Australian aircraft was shot down by Indonesian anti-aircraft batteries. The batteries were using the new Chinese microwave weapons on trial. He also confirms that the crash site is within 6 kilometres of your position, and that your new standing orders are to find the crash site and to take any personnel that survived prisoner. You are excited at the possibility of capturing an important Australian dignitary, as the information that he or she might hold may be vital in the up and coming actions that your country intends on executing.
As it is thick jungle from here to the crash site, you send lightly armed advanced pathfinders off towards the co-ordinates. They will be able to at least confirm the exact location of the site and report back with any enemy troop movements, if any, as you expect the Australians to try and recover their personnel ASAP. You leave one platoon to continue on with the original mission of setting up a temporary rally point while your platoon gets ready to move towards the crash site after the pathfinders.
Later the next day your HQ informs you that the Australians have men on their way to extract any sensitive materials and personnel ASAP, placing greater importance on your forces reaching it first
SASR OBJECTIVES:
- Primary Obj. is to find and secure crash site
- Secondary Obj. is to stabilize any personnel that require medical attention, preparing to move them to the exfiltration point (takes
5 minutes at the crash site).
- Secondary Obj. is to fall back to the exfiltration point sustaining minimal casualties en-route. (less left behind the better)
- Target of Opportunity. If all the attacking enemy forces are killed.
FAILURE VARIABLES:
- If the crash site is not found, or is found by ENEMY FORCES and cannot be recaptured
- If the V.I.P. is killed at any time during the mission
- If less than 3 of the SASR team are alive before they get to the crash site. (It will be assumed that the mission has been compromised and the air support Gunship will withdraw, and the Australian government will deny any knowledge of your existence)
- If the SARS extraction team is
killed
POINTS ALLOCATION:
If primary object is achieved, meaning that the SASR are in control of the crash site at the end of the mission - 200 points.
If VIP is extracted alive to the Hot LZ and is still there at the end of 20 minutes, a bonus +100 points is allocated
If VIP is killed, then loose 100 points.
If VIP is Captured, loose 150 points
Each SASR still alive including any unused replacements and body guards is worth 5 points
ENEMY OBJECTIVES:
- Primary Obj. is to find the downed Australian aircraft and secure crash site before the Australians can destroy any sensitive documents, equipment are destroyed and/or survivors rescued by the Australians.
- Secondary Obj. is to stabilize any personnel requiring medical attention –
5 minutes in uncontested control of crash site. (as they will be easier to move if they are stable, and the risk of them dying, thus rendering your mission a failure is significantly less.)
- Secondary Obj. is to have at least three of your force at the crash site at the end of time. (it will be deemed that you have successfully secured and entrenched in the area and defended it from the Australians)
- Target of Opportunity. If all
the Australians are killed.
FAILURE VARIABLES: ENEMY FORCE
If the crash site is not found, or is found by Australians and cannot be captured by game time
If the VIP is killed at any time during the mission.
If at the end of game time the enemy forces have no troops within two meters of the crash site marker.
Points allocation:
IF VIP captured alive and extracted back to the start point alive and remains in captivity until end of the mission add 100 points
If you control the crash site at mission end, then add 100 points.
If you prevent the Australians from destroying the sensitive materials then add 100 points.
Each Indonesian soldier still alive including any unused replacements is worth 5 points
*******NOTE*******
If at the end of game time the enemy forces have no troops within two meters of the crash marker and the SASR have not completed their primary objective, then the round is drawn.
GAME TIME: 20mins
START POINTS: for the SASR, it can be assumed that they will start fairly close to the crash marker, as they were inserted by helo. So bottom right of the pine plantation, and have the crash site marker somewhere near the middle of the lower part of the pine plantation. For the Indonesian forces, they have to lump it into the playing area, and THEN have to LOCATE the crash marker, so top left of the playing field, at the kit-out point where they pick up their weapons and gear.
